Responsibilities:

• Reappointment of physicians and allied health professionals and ongoing monitoring of providers in a manner consistent with time constraints and sound credentialing practices, including maintenance of expirables (medical licensure/certifications/malpractice insurance, etc.)
• Communicating credentialing/recredentialing requirements and processes to providers
• Maintaining open and effective communication with providers to elicit timely responses
• Utilizing credentialing software to maintain practitioner database and performing primary source verification and other tasks in accordance with federal and state regulations
• Creating and updating electronic provider files in a timely manner, accurately and according to protocol
• Drafting and submitting correspondence to providers as needed
• Analyzing application and summarizing file for director in preparation for submission to the department chair and credentials committee
• Maintaining working knowledge of medical staff bylaws and policies, as well as accreditation standards of outside agencies, and monitoring compliance

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• NAMSS certification preferred, or commitment to achieve NAMSS certification within 2 years required
• Previous experience in medical staff services and/or Visual CACTUS preferred
• Must be highly proficient in computer software systems (Microsoft Word, Excel, credentialing software)
• Excellent customer service and oral/written communication skills, detail-oriented and self-motivated with proven ability to prioritize work and function independently
